Arts
An original mixed media portrait of a young woman, built from paint, collage and found materials and cut to an irregular shape. Her face fills the piece, turned slightly aside with a quiet half smile, worked in layered blues, reds, browns and ochre over printed paper and newspaper. Her hair is raised in thick black strands tied back with a silver band, and a silver collar frames her neck, all set on torn brown cardboard so the edges become part of the work. It is a study of reflection, resilience and the return of light. An original South African work by Gary Frier. Acrylic paint, collage paper, newspaper, cardboard, textured paper and found materials, 68 x 70 cm.

Arts
An original oil painting on canvas of a woman with her arms raised above her head. Painted almost entirely in shades of rose, crimson and white, it shows a woman with dark curly hair, her head tilted back and her eyes closed, her hands meeting above her head. The hands and face are worked in close detail, with every crease of the palms picked out, while the rest of the canvas is left loose: broad white brushstrokes above, and long drips of thinned paint running down through the lower half. The canvas is square, 100 x 100 cm, a statement size for a living room, a stairwell or an office wall. This is a single original painted by Gary Frier in South Africa, and only one exists. It ships unframed. Keep it out of direct sunlight and dust it gently with a soft dry brush.

Arts
An original mixed media portrait on collaged paper and cardboard, 97 by 90 cm with an irregular torn outline. A woman's face is drawn in charcoal and acrylic over layers of found paper, newsprint, maps and fabric scraps, with a masthead reading Art Times surviving in the collage at the top edge. The layers do the storytelling: the face emerges from, and dissolves back into, the printed noise around it. This is a one of one work by South African artist Gary Frier, whose mixed media portrait Here Comes the Sun is also in this shop. It is a statement piece for a living room, office or gallery wall, and the irregular outline means it hangs as an object rather than a rectangle. Handle by the edges and keep out of direct sunlight.

Arts
An original mixed media painting on canvas, 80 x 55 cm, in blues, greys and gold. Two faces in cool blue grey sit either side of a golden afro comb whose handle is a raised fist, against a pale blue ground run through with drips. Dark hair rises like a crown above each head, and the comb's long teeth reach down between them. In the artist's words, the painting turns the comb into "a powerful symbol of inner strength", linking it to the Black Power movement, where the comb stood for pride and defiance, and to "the personal battles we fight to maintain who we are". This is a single original by South African artist Gary Frier, signed lower right. His Matriarch and Rousing Grace are also in this shop. Keep it out of direct sunlight.

Arts
An original mixed media portrait on card, 63 x 58 cm, in black, grey and white. A seated figure fills the piece, the face a pale mask with narrow slit eyes, a long nose and an open mouth, topped by a small crest and framed by a headdress patterned with triangles and chevrons. An arch sweeps over the top of the work, and the surface is built up in layers, with torn and creased card showing through the dark, rubbed tones. It has a dignified presence: a layered tribute to womanhood, resilience and cultural relevance, for collectors who value identity based art and the meeting of strength and elegance. This is a single original by South African artist Gary Frier, whose mixed media portraits Here Comes the Sun and Packing Arrows are also in this shop. It ships unframed. Keep it out of direct sunlight and handle it by the edges.
