Bright green is flicked across both sides of the canvas like foliage. In the artist's words, the painting turns an everyday act of caring for a child into a symbol of love, protection and resilience, about carrying hopes and the promise of a new generation as much as a child, and the second figure adds a sense of companionship and community.
