Pearl Twist Necklace, Black and White, Handmade Kenya

A handmade rope necklace of white pearl beads wrapped in black seed beads that spiral all the way round it, finished with a silver tone clasp. The most formal of the maker's pearl twists, made for a black dress, evening wear or a monochrome wardrobe. Two lines of black beads wind around the pearls in crisp stripes, so the necklace reads graphic and sharp rather than sweet, and it goes with anything black or white you already own. It sits close and full at the base of the neck. It fastens with a silver tone lobster clasp and a short extender chain, both visible in the first photograph, so it can sit a little higher or lower. If you want colour instead, the same twist is also made in pink and white, and in green and white. Care: keep it dry and away from perfume, and store it laid flat or loosely coiled so the spiral keeps its shape.
