Overview
A long hand carved wooden wall mask with wave carved hair and gold coloured metal inlay. Deep wavy lines sweep down either side of a smooth domed forehead, which carries a diamond of embossed gold coloured metal. Beneath it, narrow eyes sit under carved brows, the cheeks are panelled in patterned metal, and the face narrows to a pointed chin. The seller calls it The Observer, for the watchful, quiet look of the face. The seller gives the size as 45.7 x 17.8 cm (18 x 7 in). Carved from wood by hand in Ghana. Dust with a dry cloth and keep the metal dry.
